Kings, 5, Form of Music based on the Blue Notes, 3
The night didn't start off well. My Half Season Ticket Holder Buddy and I made the pre-game trek to get chicken sandwiches from the Corner Grill near sections 100/101. We've come to enjoy the sandwiches over the past few games and it gives us the illusion that we are eating on the healthier side. We placed our order and waited... and waited... and waited till the middle of the 1st period before the sandwiches came out. It was obvious that something had gone horribly wrong as there were several people waiting just as long for their orders. And we all missed Anze Kopitar's beautiful goal.
Kopitar and Dustin Brown looked great and they really have seemed to answer Coach Murray's call to pick up their play. As opposed to many people over at Let's Go Kings, I think the line of Patrick O'Sullivan, Brian Boyle and Peter Harrold is playing well together. I've always liked Harrold since he first showed up a few years ago, not so much for his play as a defenseman but for his offensive potential. He's always shown good offensive instincts as a defenseman. But the move to forward, may be the right one. I'd would much rather see what he can do up front than bring Derek Armstrong or Brad Richardson back into the lineup. Although after the beatings he received last night, Harrold may want to go back to defense.
18 Year Drew Doughty gets better and better each game. And now.. he has suitors!
Erik Ersberg looked strong again. And the fans let him know. He keeps the rebounds to a minimum and the team plays hard in front of him. The goals he gave up were all quality scoring chances. I can't imagine Jason LaBarbera getting the start on Tuesday against the Dallas Stars.
Apparently, some one has been taking clearing lessons from Denis Gauthier.
Victories against Florida and St. Louis are great but these are teams the Kings should beat. Let's see how they do on Tuesday against a team that they need to beat.
